Over 20,000 former students granted permanent residency in Canada in 2023

Canada has issued permanent resident status to more former international students so far in 2023 than throughout the whole of last year. The number of students becoming permanent residents in Canada has spiralled over the last four years, with the latest figures showing a 78% increase in former international students receiving permanent residency compared to 2019.
