Pearson English test approved by Canada

The Canadian government will accept Pearson’s new language test as proof of English proficiency, the publishing and assessment company announced. Individuals applying for Canadian permanent residency or citizenship are expected to be able to use Pearson’s test in their applications from late 2023. The organisation said the new exam, PTE Essential, is similar to its existing test, PTE Academic, but has a vocational and real-life focus to meet Canada’s immigration requirements.
