This certified financial planner program is designed to give you the skills necessary to connect with your future clients and colleagues in the largest financial industry in Canada. Through our certified financial planner courses, you can work in the personal financial services sector, from customer service to wealth management and financial planning. In this program you will learn to work with clients, evaluate their needs and offer advice on personal financial management, tax and retirement planning, insurance, investments, and estate planning, as well as customer relations and providing products to clients. Available in a traditional in class format, with September and January admissions or 100% online. There are options to transfer to complete a degree program at many other post-secondary institutions or complement your diploma with a graduate certificate offered at Fanshawe College. Qualified graduates will have completed all of the educational requirements leading to the CFP® (Certified Financial Planner®) designation awarded by the Financial Planning Standards Council. Students are also prepared to write the Canadian Securities Course® and Life Licensing Qualification Program examinations as prerequisites to securities and life insurance licensing. Students will also have completed the Mutual Funds Licensing course.
