Overview

Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) is fundamental to modern society, encompassing everything from advanced computer systems and digital circuits to photonics and cutting-edge technologies like automated cars, robotics, medical equipment, and the next generation of mobile data transmission. Electrical and Electronic Engineering is at the core of the modern world, from computers to digital circuits, photonics and a wealth of electronic devices. Our society relies on Electrical Engineers for everything from low-power electrical machines, and control systems, to high-voltage electrical power generation and distribution systems. Our teaching is delivered by world renowned experts and supported by our excellent workshop and laboratories dedicated to satellite communications, robotics, lasers and computer-aided design, as well as many others. The first two years of our engineering degrees cover general engineering, with elements of civil, chemical, mechanical, petroleum, as well as electrical and electronic. In the later years, you specialise, following your chosen discipline in greater depth. You do not need to finalise your choice of specialisation until you begin your third year. Our 4-year Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) programmes are accredited as fully meeting the educational requirements for Incorporated Engineer (IEng) and partially meeting the educational requirements for Chartered Engineer (CEng). After the first two years, students on the four-year Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) have the opportunity to pursue the 5-year Masters of Engineering in their chosen discipline.
