Germany makes APS certificate mandatory for Indian Students
Starting November 1st, Indian students wishing to study in Germany will have to obtain APS certification to get their German Visa. This certificate will validate that the academic credentials submitted by the applicant are genuine.
APS is an abbreviation of the German term Akademische Prüfstelle which means Academic
Evaluation Center. The center is established in the German embassy in New Delhi, and it will issue the APS Certificates to German study visa aspirants. The Academic Evaluation Center started offering its services on October 1st, 2022.
In addition, students aspiring to pursue graduation in Germany will have to take tests, which is a central standardized aptitude test for international students.
APS certification is now an integral part of the German study visa process. Anyone aspiring to study in Germany must get their documents accessed first by the APS to get the APS certificate.
Process of obtaining the APS Certification to Study in Germany
- Go to www.aps-india.de, then download, print, and fill up the application form, ensuring the accuracy of the details; otherwise, the APS will reject the application.
- Pay the APS verification fee of Rs 18,000 to the APS bank account. The amount is non-refundable.
- Submit the signed application form along with the required documents to APS India via courier or physically visiting the center.
- After that, APS will check the completeness of the application, and if proper, it will verify the documents.
- After this, APS will update the applicant's online profile with a verification outcome. Successful candidates will receive five original APS certificates via courier.
- With APS certificates, the candidate may apply for a German Study visa.
Document Checklist for the APS Certification process for 12th Class Students
- Printed and duly signed application form
- Passport size photograph, which should not be more than 6 months old
- Copy of APS Fee Transfer Receipt
- Aadhar card copy with linked mobile number
- Copy of first and last page of passport
- Copy of 10th class mark sheet and certificate
- Copy of mark sheet and certificate of class XII.
- Proof of having attended the pre-university entrance test (if applicable)
- Copy of TestAS result (core and subject-specific)
- Copy of Language Certificate - German and/or English
Document Checklist for the APS Certification process for Students with Bachelor / Master Degree
- Printed and duly signed application form
- Passport size photograph, which should not be more than 6 months old
- Copy of APS Fee Transfer Receipt
- Aadhar card copy with linked mobile number
- Copy of first and last page of passport
- Copy of 12th class mark sheet and certificate.
- Copy of Class XII Admit Card, if available.
- Copy of mark sheet of all semesters.
- Copy of Bachelor's degree. In case the degree has not been issued, a provisional certificate issued by the college may be accepted (which should not be more than 1 year old)
- Copy of Master's degree and transcripts. (if applicable)
- Copy of Language Certificate - German and/or English
